OVERALL PURPOSE: WHY THE JOB EXISTS & WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a National Sales Representative, you will drive the growth and success of the company’s products within the marine, outdoor, and RV markets. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans, identifying new business opportunities, and building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. You will assess competitive activities in your markets and provide opportunities for growth to assist the company in achieving revenue objectives. Additional responsibilities include providing strong support for our customers by developing key relationships and ensuring the accuracy of information communicated, entered, and maintained in the records system.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & EXPECTED OUTCOMES: YOUR ACCOUNTABILITIES IN THE ROLE
- Market Development
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the company’s market presence.
- Identify new business opportunities and partnerships within the markets.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Drive Sales Activities
- Lead sales efforts to drive revenue growth.
- Prospect new business via cold calling and expanding business with existing customers.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to potential customers.
- Negotiate sales contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms for the company within guidelines.
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve products and services.
- Professionally sell to customers.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of customer organizations.
- Play a key role nurturing “key” customer relationships.
- Ensure customers hear a unified message about Eastex’s service and selection.
- Ensure a positive and successful customer experience with Eastex.
- Plan and participate in industry events, including trade shows and exhibitions.
- Product Management
- Understand Eastex product offering in order to provide solution selling experience to customers.
- Attend relevant industry events and conferences to build business.
- Guide the development of products for these markets.
- Manage and execute product launches, inventory process and product and service marketing plans.
- Understand Eastex product offering in order to provide solution selling experience to customers.
- Training
- Develop and conduct training programs for customers to educate them on the Company’s product offering.
- Develop and conduct training programs for peers on the sales team to enhance their skills and knowledge of products in this market.
- Reporting
- Monitor and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Provide regular, timely updates on customer activities.

REQUIREMENTS
- Education Minimum: Equivalent experience or Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in business or marketing preferred or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Three or more years experience in sales or marketing, preferably in the Marine, Outdoor, or RV industries.
- Computer Skills: Strong capabilities operating within Windows Office 365. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Functional Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Keen attention to detail and interest in problem-solving to meet customer needs.
- Listening skills: Must be attentive and be able to relay key messaging content. Committed to understanding and meeting the needs of the customer.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Solid computer skills, operating within Windows Office 365. (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Communication Skills: Ability to compose and communicate professionally and succinctly in both writing and speaking deliveries. Presentation and persuasive skills. Ability to present ideas and concepts, internally and externally.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to stand for up to two or more hours in one session.
- Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and work with the office equipment and other tools/equipment in a safe and precise way for seven or more hours per day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally using safe lifting practices.
- Ability to visually read fine or small print, computer screens, and hand-held equipment frequently.
- Ability to visually perceive color and distinguish between similar colors.
- Cognitive and reasoning ability to review procedures, compare products and specifications, and follow guidelines frequently.
- Ability to listen to customers/others, problem-solve, and respond accordingly throughout the day.
- Ability to respond and be flexible to changing work demands as needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- The employee is primarily exposed to an office environment but may occasionally be exposed to an environment with moderate to loud noise. The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment. The temperature of the facility may fluctuate.
TRAVEL
- Extensive travel (50% or more) required.
